Our Board of Directors

George Papayannopoulos
President
He was born in Athens in 1964, while since 1968 he also lives in London, where he began to have a parallel professional presence with Greece since 1997.
With financial studies at the University of Piraeus and postgraduate training in insurance in London and Switzerland, he continues a family tradition with a presence in the international insurance market that begins in 1929, as founder and head of financial companies based in Greece, Cyprus. United Kingdom, Bulgaria and the USA, which form an international group of companies, while he participates as a co-founder and CEO in a company with international distinction in automation technology projects.
At the same time, he supports initiatives to contribute to society as a whole and individually, but also in the context of corporate social responsibility actions, holds the honorary position of Founding President in the organization.

Sofia Eftsratiou
Vice President
Sophia Efstratiou has an impressive and multifaceted background with a focus on public administration, project management, and strategic development. She holds a degree from the School of Philosophy at Aristotle University, with postgraduate specializations in Strategic Management and Project Management, and an International master’s degree in business administration (IMBA). She is fluent in English, French, and Italian.
She has served as an Administrative Consultant at the Hellenic Defense Systems (formerly Hellenic Arms Industry – PYRKAL) and has taught in the Lifelong Learning programs of the University of the Aegean, focusing on Public Administration and Local Governance. Sofia has received international recognition in quality management within the public sector and in culture, and she currently serves as a Development Consultant for the Ephorate of the Philological Society Parnassos.
With 20 years of experience in local government, she worked as a senior staff member specializing in public organization and functioning, as well as in managing EU co-financed projects and developmental programs in the municipalities of Nea Smyrni, Dionysos, Kythira, and Zografou. She coordinated the establishment and operation of social structures, cultural foundations, and municipal development enterprises. Her extensive experience in project management includes handling ESPA (European Structural Funds), regional and sectoral programs, local government initiatives, and programs such as EuropeAid and TEBA. She has also coordinated actions and projects in transnational networks and city partnerships (UNESCO, Hellenic International Development Cooperation Department, Rights, Equality, and Citizenship Programme).
Since 2020, she has been the Secretary-General of the Municipality of Markopoulo Mesogeas.

Maria Tsifti
Secretary General
Maria Tsifti is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the international trade and service sector.
As one of the founders and COO of Advanced Integration, a leading smart home automation company, Maria oversees HR, marketing, sales, and finance, ensuring seamless operations and driving innovation.
Maria has managed to build over the years an international network of clients and associates, by fostering strategic collaborations, and facilitating resource pooling across markets.
In 2019, Maria co-founded Thyateira Union, where she serves as Executive Director and Secretary General. Her passion for philanthropy is evident in her active involvement and leadership in various charitable initiatives.
With her extensive business expertise and commitment to philanthropy, Maria Tsifti is dedicated to making a positive impact both professionally and within the community.

Fr. Nikolaos Alexandris
Special Secretary
The First Elder, Fr. Nikolaos Alexandris, was born and raised in Athens. He is a graduate of the Theological Seminary with a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Psychology from the Canadian Universities of Ottawa and St. Paul. He also holds a Degree in Byzantine Music from the Romanos Melodos Conservatory.
He served as Priest of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ottawa and St. Nicholas, Toronto.
He has taught Pastoral Psychology at the Toronto Patriarchal Theological Academy, and has held senior positions in the Holy Archdiocese of Canada, including Director of Social Services (Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Program), Director of Cultural Programs, and Government Departments. He also served as Special Adviser on Hellenes Abroad at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For seventeen consecutive years he was the Director of the TV show “Personalities” Antenna Satellite and Mega Cosmos in America and Canada.
Awarded for the 200th anniversary of the City of Toronto-Scarborough by the City of Toronto, also awarded by the Governor General of Canada with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Judilee Medal Award in the Canadian Parliament.

Efi Kotsiki - Kossivaki
Treasurer
She was born and raised in Athens.
She graduated from the Department of Business Administration of the Athens University of Economics and Business (ASOEE).
From 1976, when she started her professional career, she worked in large multinational insurance companies and Greek Commercial companies.
She specializes in Sales, Organization and Management.
After leaving the Insurance Company AIG (American INTERNATIONAL Group), due to retirement, she continued her career as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors & Management Consultant of Insurance Companies.
She is a Founding member of the Thyateira Union of the Archdiocese of Thyateira & Great Britain and a member of its Board of Directors.
